CSS and CARP Design

 HTML site.
For this project, we worked with CSS and HTML files. The way they are arranged (in code view) are completely different. I learned that the way CSS is formatted, is very picky. You have to have everything like the brackets and semicolons right because if you don't it could mess up your website. We changed the HTML file to CSS and worked on making it look better using the principals of CARP.

How did I use CARP?

Contrast

By changing the colors of the backgrounds and words to colors that were in the image of the dog, I made it flow together well. The colors all relate somehow which gave it a nice contrast compared to the word that were on top of the background.

Alignment

Everything on the website was aligned with something else. For example, the whole poem was left aligned so it looked like a perfectly straight line on the left. The heading and subheading was centered so you could tell that was one of the most important parts.

Repetition

CSS website.
One major thing that was repeated throughout the whole making of this website was the colors that were also used on the dog. The tan color was repeated many times except some were lighter and some were darker. We made the balance work well by using it at different times but still made it work.

Proximity

Proximity was a pretty easy principle to use. The most obvious use of it is the way that we grouped the whole poem. We grouped it all together so people would know where the poem was and so they would have no problem reading it.

CSS is so great because you can play around with so much things. With CSS you can change and edit things to make it the way you want it, and you can use the principles of CARP. The end result really does show the possibilities with CSS.
